Our business-linked sustainability model is fundamental to DEACERO®, as it allows us to combine environmental and social responsibility with our long-term economic success by fostering DEACERO®’s Virtuous Circle.

DEACERO®’s Virtuous Circle involves integrating sustainable practices into all aspects of our operation, from resource management to our day-to-day operations and our interactions with stakeholders.

Our sustainability strategy is based on the relationship and constant communication with our stakeholders.

This close relationship provides mutual benefits with a participative approach, which leads us to build long-term relationships of trust that drive DEACERO®’s Virtuous Circle.

During this year, together with Industrial Intelligence® we focused our efforts on strengthening dialogue to learn about their perception, concerns and expectations of our sustainable management.

Promote stakeholder participation and engagement with initiatives that accelerate corporate sustainability and communication of results

Contribution

We seek to develop collaborations with different organizations that help us enhance our positive impact on society and the environment. We coordinate our interactions with these entities through the Corporate Affairs and International Trade Department. Since October 2020, we have introduced the Policy for Affiliations with Organizations, Chambers and Associations, which aims to establish guidelines for affiliations and membership management with guilds, chambers and other regulatory entities, being applicable to all DEACERO® Group.

Contribution

Our Procurement Policy focuses on guidelines covering aspects such as business practices, business ethics, procurement management, approval requirements, information security, compliance metrics, environmental assessment, and collaboration with suppliers, among others. These guidelines are designed to standardize processes, implement controls and improve both total cost and service quality in line with our vision for the year 2026.

Contribution

We focus on managing our operations ethically, always ensuring that we comply with the most rigorous laws, regulations and ethical standards, as well as respecting human rights. Our Code of Ethics establishes our principles and commitments regarding standards of conduct, serving as a basis for the behavior of all DEACERO® members and regulating our relationships with stakeholders. All employees sign this Code as part of their onboarding and orientation process.

We have a specialized team dedicated to ensuring constant improvement and innovation in environmental indicators and procedures. Our goal is to have highly trained employees in environmental issues at all our work sites, thus ensuring proper regulatory compliance.

Practical and systematic environmental management

Contribution

Our Environmental Sustainability Policy aims to simplify the identification of areas for improvement in the indicators of efficient water use, energy efficiency, atmospheric emissions and waste management in all our operations. Compliance with regulations is the first step to ensure the sustainable development of our activities; therefore, we keep our regulatory requirements matrixes up to date and constantly monitor them to ensure full compliance.

Fight against climate change through operational decarbonization

Contribution

We have created the Neutrum® label with the aim of guaranteeing carbon neutrality. Neutrum® products are made using recycled steel and a sustainable production process. In addition, we offset the remaining emissions using carbon credits. These certificates come from recognized international registries, such as the Climate Action Reserve, and are generated from nature-based projects. In addition, we are committed to setting emission reduction targets aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative.

Through the DEACERO® Foundation, we implement programs to connect with the communities in which we have an operational presence. These programs focus on areas such as education, environment, social development and the health of our neighbors.

It covers areas related to physical and mental health, and personal, family and professional growth, to encourage a culture that values balance and quality of life.

Our permanent commitment is to achieve a zero accidents goal. We constantly strive to ensure that all our employees are properly trained, follow procedures and use adequate safety equipment. We evaluate working conditions to ensure that they are safe and risk-free, assessed according to their level and probability of occurrence. At DEACERO® we all participate and share responsibility in our safety and health at work culture.
